The Name Game!
Yes, names are getting more unique, the spelling and pronunciation of them more tricky to decipher... but lets be real! These are our kids! Whatever name we choose for them is our decision and most importantly - no one else's business!
Names mean different things to different people. Some names, due to past experiences may be associated with times and people that you'd rather not have as a reminder in your life, or maybe the exact opposite!
I must say that when choosing names for our son, we decided on names that neither of us could associate with anyone at any time in our lives.
It was their name to make!
(however we quickly learnt that JACK was the most popular name of 2002! and that there are a million of them everywhere we go)
Our second son, was also given a "normal" albeit older style name. A name to make his own, and yet some of the comments we received when we announced his name were mind boggling. How is it that people feel they have the right to negatively comment on the names you have chosen for the human beings that YOU have created?
Here in our HQ we have so many unique, normal, surprising, wonderful and colourful names pass through everyday from Mums and Dads wanting to celebrate their childs uniqueness and the time they have blessed us by being in our lives. AND we LOVE them all!
Well rant over...
Signing out... Jance ( yep the owner of a weird name barely anyone can pronounce or spell... and yes, since marriage, it rhymes with my surname!)
